The Kuwaiti identity is seldom noticed in modern fields of life creating an opportunity where good, valuable and original Kuwaiti cuisine is rarely served at restaurants and is only experienced at home. The experience of the gathering at the grandmother’s home in the seventies was the starting point for the design of Zwara. Elements could be seen at the grandparents home such as vintage TV cabinet and all its contents of accessories, sofas with fabrics and Housh terrazzo flooring. The aim was to render the space with the atmosphere of a family home that makes every single guest feels welcomed as if he was at the big family house while playing on the chord of memories. The exposed ceiling emphasizes the idea of openness and the unlimited choices available at the restaurant. |
